Sultai Mana Rituals (Burst Mana Effects)

Find Sultai (black-green-blue) mana rituals and burst mana effects for Commander. Explore one-time mana acceleration for BUG decks.

Sultai ritual mana is uniquely recursive. Black provides the best ritual effects in Commander - Dark Ritual, Cabal Ritual, and Culling the Weak - while green contributes creature-counting burst mana from cards like Elvish Guidance and green's X-spell generators. Blue adds spell-copying through Twincast and Narset's Reversal to double ritual output, and critically, Sultai's graveyard access means Regrowth, Noxious Revival, and Muldrotha can replay spent rituals. No other three-color combination can cast Dark Ritual, recur it from the graveyard, and copy it with blue magic in the same turn cycle.

Black's Premier Rituals with Blue Copies and Green Recursion

    • Dark Ritual adds three black mana for one - the most efficient ritual in Magic, and Sultai can Regrowth it back for repeated combo turns
    • Cabal Ritual adds three black mana base, or five with threshold - Sultai's self-mill from Mesmeric Orb and Stitcher's Supplier hits threshold naturally by turn three
    • Culling the Weak sacrifices one creature for four black mana - feeding death triggers from Grave Pact while generating more mana than any other one-mana ritual
    • Narset's Reversal copies a ritual and returns the original to your hand - netting double the mana while keeping the ritual for next turn
    • Songs of the Damned adds one black mana per creature in your graveyard - Sultai's mill plan routinely puts ten-plus creatures there, producing massive bursts

No Red Means No Seething Song or Mana Geyser

    • Without red, you lose Seething Song, Mana Geyser, and Battle Hymn - the highest-ceiling burst mana spells that count opponents' tapped lands or your creature count
    • No white means no Grand Abolisher or Silence to protect your ritual-into-combo turn from interaction
    • Blue's counterspells serve as protection instead - hold up Pact of Negation or Force of Will while ritual-ing into your win condition
    • Green's Earthcraft taps creatures for mana and untaps lands, creating a ritual-like effect that's repeatable every turn with token producers
    • Muldrotha, the Gravetide replays ritual-producing permanents like Lotus Petal from the graveyard, giving Sultai sustained burst mana that other colors only get once
