Jund Mana Rituals (Burst Mana Effects)

Find Jund (black-red-green) mana rituals and burst mana effects for Commander. Explore one-time mana acceleration for BRG decks.

Jund combines the two strongest ritual colors in Magic - black and red - with green's creature-counting burst mana. Dark Ritual, Cabal Ritual, Seething Song, and Desperate Ritual all fit the color identity, and green adds Channel-style effects like Rite of Flame and creature-powered mana from Gaea's Cradle effects. Without white or blue, Jund can't protect its combo turns with counterspells and lacks white's cost reducers - but it has so much raw burst mana that it can often win through disruption by sheer output.

Black and Red Rituals with Green Creature Scaling

    • Dark Ritual and Cabal Ritual together produce six-plus black mana for two mana investment - threshold is easy with fetchlands and Satyr Wayfinder
    • Seething Song adds five red for three mana, powering out Jund commanders like Prossh or fueling Mana Geyser follow-ups
    • Mana Geyser counts all tapped lands opponents control - in a four-player game this routinely produces ten or more red mana
    • Battle Hymn and Brightstone Ritual count creatures, and Jund's token strategies from Prossh or Korvold feed them massive creature counts
    • Sacrifice-based rituals like Burnt Offering and Culling the Weak convert one creature into burst mana, synergizing with death triggers

No White or Blue Means No Protection During Combo Turns

    • Without blue, you can't counter the Counterspell aimed at your key spell after ritual-ing into it - timing and threat assessment matter more
    • No white means no Grand Abolisher or Silence to lock opponents out during your combo turn
    • Red's Price of Glory and War's Toll punish opponents for holding up mana, discouraging counterspells indirectly
    • Black's Veil of Summer (green, actually available) and Autumn's Veil protect against blue and black interaction on critical turns
    • Green's Vexing Shusher and Destiny Spinner give your creature and enchantment spells uncounterable status, protecting ritual payoffs
